Disputes about money don't have to end up in court as there is often a better way to resolving problems like these. Community Justice Centres - external site provide experienced mediators free of charge, to help people in dispute reach an agreement.
The NSW Local Court can deal with cases involving claims up to $100,000. Amounts higher than this are heard in the New South Wales District Court or Supreme Court.
