Justice Peter Brereton

The Honourable Justice Peter Brereton was sworn-in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 6 February 2025. His Honour attained first class honours at the University of Sydney in Law, before undertaking a Masters at the University of London. In 1993, his Honour begun practicing at Freehills, then Mallesons Stephen Jaques before being called to the Bar in 1997. His Honour was a founding member of Banco Chambers in 2005 and took silk in 2009, since appearing in numerous significant consumer and competition law cases which sit at the intersection of his law and economics interests.
