Every year on 10 September, we observe World Suicide Prevention Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to prevent suicide. Since 2003, this day has united communities worldwide in support of mental health and wellbeing.
One initiative closely aligned with this mission is the Blue Tree Project, which uses striking blue-painted trees as a symbol of hope and a catalyst for open conversations around mental health. These trees serve as powerful visual reminders to check in on ourselves and those around us, encouraging connection and support.
While not officially partnered with World Suicide Prevention Day, many organisations and communities choose to unveil blue trees around September 10 to show their support. These trees represent hope, not loss, and help foster a culture of care and awareness.
We’re proud to share that the CSI Engineering teams at Macquarie and Kirkconnell have created metal Blue Trees to support this initiative. These durable installations are designed to withstand the elements outdoors, and now also come in smaller versions perfect for office spaces, bringing the message of hope indoors.
Support starts with a conversation. Whether it’s a chat with a colleague or a moment of reflection beside a blue tree, let’s continue to build a workplace where mental health matters.
