CSI Demountables: Supporting NSW Schools

CSI Demountables is proud of its long-standing partnership with the NSW Department of Education (DoE), playing a crucial role in refurbishing and relocating demountable buildings that serve as vital learning spaces across the state. These flexible, scalable structures help meet the evolving needs of NSW’s growing school population.

As the year draws to a close, many teams begin winding down, but not CSI Demountables. This is our busiest season! Over the coming months, we’ll be responding to a surge of requests from the DoE, driven by changing student enrolments. Each request is like a piece of a giant puzzle: some demountables need to be removed, others relocated, refurbished, or newly installed, all before the 2026 school year begins.

This massive logistical effort involves over 50 buildings across NSW and is powered by the incredible work of our CSI Trade Overseers and more than 540 people in custody working at CSI Demountables sites in St Heliers, Goulburn, and Cessnock Correctional Centres.

These individuals are not only contributing to essential infrastructure, they’re building futures. Many are engaged in traineeships and apprenticeships, including:

• Certificate II in Construction Pathways
• Certificate III in Plumbing
• Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services

Approximately 17% of these traineeships are undertaken by Aboriginal participants, reflecting our commitment to inclusive opportunities. Participants also gain practical skills in areas such as chainsaw operation, construction, painting, asbestos handling, crane operation, dogging, forklift use, and White Card (CIC) certification.
